The Investment Intentions Survey explores the aspirations for investment into the real estate sector over the following two years with a focus on non-listed real estate funds.

The survey focuses on the forward-looking views and investment preferences of investors, in terms of allocations, location, sector and fund strategy as well as their strategic views on the trends of the non-listed industry in the Asia Pacific region.

The survey has been produced since 2008 and since 2012 the survey has had a global outreach as a joint research project between ANREV, INREV and PREA.

  • ANREV is pleased to present the results of the Investment Intentions Survey 2024 with a specific focus on non-listed real estate funds. The survey was conducted in conjunction with the European Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles (INREV) and the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA). By joining the forces of all three organizations, the survey is able to present a truly global view on expected trends and investment intentions within the real estate industry. This is the sixteenth edition of the regional survey which attracted 90 respondents: 85 investors (94%), and 5 funds of funds managers (6%).

    Chapter 1 explores global real estate allocations, providing insight into investment trends globally and is based on the full sample of respondents. This is a common section that can also be found in the INREV and PREA 2024 Investment Intentions reports.

    Chapter 2 focus on the Asia Pacific real estate market, including insights on preferred structures, markets, sectors, styles and trends. This chapter is based only on those investors and fund of fund managers who are already investing in the Asia Pacific market or intend to do so in the next two years.

The survey was conducted in conjunction with the European Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles (INREV) and the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA). This is the eleventh edition of the regional survey which attracted 177 respondents in Asia Pacific compared to 199 in 2017: 84 investors (47.5%), 6 fund of fund managers (3.4%) and 87 fund managers (49.2%).

    In the final chapter, for the fourth time, we have invited Real Capital Analytics (RCA) to present its analysis of the relationship between the predictions within ANREV Investment Intentions Survey 2017 and the investment activities that transpired during the past year using its database of global transactions in that particular year.

  • Asia Pacific Investors will increase real estate allocation in 2015

    The ANREV Investment Intentions Survey 2015 shows that Asia Pacific investors will increase their real estate allocations from 9.8% to 11%.

    40% of global investors expect to increase their allocation to non-listed real estate funds in Asia Pacific.

    Tokyo, Sydney, China Tier 1 cities and Melbourne are the top investment destinations for investors.

    This is the eighth investment intentions Asia Pacific report and the second global survey conducted together with INREV in Europe and PREA in the United States.

    This survey attracted a record number of 337 respondents.
