Charles Haase is Chief Executive of ANREV, the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles. ANREV is a member driven non-profit organization producing research and indices relevant to the private real estate industry in Asia Pacific, and promoting improved transparency and best practices across the region.

Prior to joining ANREV, Charlie had experience on both sides of the investment table, working for Aetos Japan and Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corporation in Tokyo, and for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System in the United States. Prior to joining CalSTRS, Charlie was on the Economics faculty of San Francisco State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.

Jonathan Umali is the Chief Investment Officer at ARCH Capital Management, where he serves on the Investment Committee and leads the firm’s investment activities across the Asia Pacific region. Over three decades in Asian real estate investment and asset management, he has invested in and managed assets across opportunistic, value-add and core/core-plus strategies in Japan, Australia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong and Greater China.

Since joining ARCH Capital in 2006, Jonathan has been instrumental in scaling the platform from inception and in establishing on-the-ground investment and asset management capability across the Asia Pacific region. He has helped raise capital for discretionary funds and separate mandates from global institutional investors including public and corporate pensions, insurance companies, endowments, corporates and family offices.

Prior to ARCH Capital, Jonathan held senior positions at Ayala Land in the Philippines, with earlier international postings in Singapore and San Francisco.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Chemical Engineering from De La Salle University and an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management–Columbia Business School joint program and has completed professional-development programs at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Jonathan is based in Hong Kong.

Bernhard Karas joined CapitaLand Group in 2020 as Head of Private Capital Markets with responsibility for leading the firm’s private funds product development and global capital raising efforts. He currently focuses on developing CapitaLand Investment’s client base and capital raising for the firm’s private equity real assets platform across the Asia Pacific and Europe.

Bernhard has 24 years of financial services industry experience and has dedicated a substantial part of his career to advising leading real estate companies and fund managers on the formation of private equity vehicles and raising capital from global institutional investors. Bernhard has been actively involved in the origination and execution of real estate private equity advisory transactions and capital raising mandates of more than US$10 billion.

Prior to joining CapitaLand, Bernhard spent five years with DWS Group based in Hong Kong leading the alternatives coverage specialists function in Asia ex-Japan. Prior to that, Bernhard was a director in the capital markets group of Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong where he was responsible for building and leading the indirect investment and private equity advisory function in the Asia Pacific Region. Before that, Bernhard spent nine years with M3 Capital Partners where he was instrumental in developing the firm’s institutional investor relationships initially in Europe and subsequently in Asia after relocating from London to Hong Kong in April 2009. Bernhard started his career in investment banking in the late 1990s with Lehman Brothers in London.
Bernhard holds a Masters Degree in Social and Economic Sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

Mahdi Mokrane is Co-Head of Fund Management at PATRIZIA and serves as CIO Europe ex-DACH. Based in London, he oversees the firm's real estate investment strategies, fund execution, and investment performance, while helping shape product development and regional investment strategy. He is a member of PATRIZIA's Global Investment Committee and chairs the Board of Directors of PATRIZIA Global Partners.

Prior to joining PATRIZIA in 2020, Mahdi held senior leadership roles at LaSalle, AEW, MSCI IPD, ESSEC Business School, and Caisse des Dépôts. A recognized thought leader in the real estate industry, he is a frequent keynote speaker at global real estate events and serves on the boards of INREV, ANREV, and NCREIF.

Peter Kim joined QuadReal as Managing Director, Asia in November 2017. His focus is on building QuadReal’s international portfolio, with an emphasis on its investments in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to his Asia-Pacific responsibilities, Peter also heads up QuadReal’s Strategic Partners group, responsible for originating, structuring, and managing the firm’s strategic relationships with institutional partners across the globe.

Peter was formerly a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Real Estate and Infrastructure Department at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), based in Abu Dhabi and specifically focused on direct investments. Prior to ADIA, Peter was a Managing Director at CBRE Investment Management (formerly ING Real Estate) in Hong Kong where he had a dual role as Head of Acquisitions for Asia Pacific and Fund Manager of the CBRE Phoenix Real Estate Fund, a pan-Asian opportunistic strategy. He also spent 11 years in the New York, London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong offices of Lehman Brothers where he last held the position of Head of Real Estate Investment Banking for Asia. Peter graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
