The 2022 ANREV/INREV/PREA Investment Intentions survey attracted 99 respondents in total including 91 institutional investors and 8 funds of funds managers. Mr. Glyn Nelson, Ms. Tanya Do of AEW, Ms. Emily Relf of Knight Frank, Mr. Rushabh Desai of Allianz and Mr. Bart Coenraads of LOGOS will share with us the key highlights of the survey and lead the panel discussions on Asia Pacific region.

Mr. Nelson is Director of Research for AEW in Asia Pacific with responsibility for directing the firm’s research activities in the region. Based in Singapore, he is a member of the AEW Asia Pacific Investment Committee and a member of the firm’s Global Securities Allocation Committee. Mr. Nelson’s responsibilities include monitoring, evaluating and forecasting the macroeconomic environment, demographic trends and capital market conditions across the Asia Pacific region. He interprets this information for AEW’s senior professionals in order to provide decision support to the investment, asset management and portfolio management activities of AEW in the region. Prior to joining AEW, Mr. Nelson served as Head of Asia Pacific Property Research for Aberdeen Asset Management and as Head of Real Estate Intelligence for Jones Lang LaSalle, both based in Singapore. He has also held property market research positions at CB Richard Ellis and DTZ in Auckland, New Zealand. He is a graduate of University of Auckland and University of Texas at Arlington (M.S. in Real Estate).
Emily focuses on uncovering the best investment opportunities in the UK, Europe and the US for cross-border investors. Based in Singapore since 2015, she has forged strong relationships with institutional investors, private equity funds, and high net worth individuals throughout the region, taking Asia’s most aggressive capital out of the region. Emily is also an expert commentator on living sectors within the Asia Pacific region, having worked with Asian capital on student accommodation and multifamily deals worldwide.
- Real Estate experience spanning over 28 years
- Responsible for the groups funds management as well as working on strategic new initiatives from a product and corporate perspective
- Previous experience in setting up teams and products in Europe and APAC as well as investing across the APAC region on behalf of institutional investors
- Has held a fiduciary role in relation to institutional clients for over 20 years and participating in investment committees for over 16 years
- Previously worked in senior roles for LaSalle, Aviva Investors, BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Fortis Investments, Mn Services and Royal Ahold
Rushabh Desai heads the Asia-Pacific region at Allianz Real Estate. He is a voting member of Allianz Real Estate Global Executive Committee, as well as teh Allianz Real Estate Global Equity Investment Committee. Under his leadership Allianz Real Estate has established a USD9+ billion portfolio in teh region and most recently raised over USD2 billion third-party capital to invest alongside Allianz.
For Allianz Real Estate the main areas of focus include direct and indirect private real estate equity investment, as wel as senior lending across key markets such as Japan, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, India and Southeast Asia.
Prior to joining Allianz Real Estate in 2016, Rush gained diverse global experience in positions of increasing leadership responsibilities at GE/GE Capital/GE Real Estate. Rush is ULI Global Governing Trustee. He graduated from St. Xavier's College in Kolkata, India and completed an MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai, India.
Ms. Do is a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager for AEW Asia Pacific Real Estate Fund, also a member of the AEW Asia Pacific Investment and Risk Management Committees. She has over 20 years of real estate investment experience in the Asia Pacific region. Ms. Do joins AEW from Pan Asia Realty Advisors (part of Mitsubishi Estate Group) where she was the Fund Manager for the group's Pan Asia Core Plus Fund. Prior roles include Chief Operating Officer and Head of Products for UBS Asset Management in Asia Pacific. Ms. Do has fund management and acquisition experience across the Asia Pacific region and has also held roles at Mirvac Group, Goodman Group and Deutsche Asset Management. Ms. Do has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Sydney and has completed qualifications as a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.
