Joseph Chien is Head of Private Real Estate in Asia and Co-Head Private Real Estate Partnerships, based in Singapore. He is a member of the Private Real Estate Investment Committee. He has 28 years of industry experience in Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Prior to joining Partners Group, he was a Managing Director at Blackstone Real Estate based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo, responsible for real estate acquisitions and initiatives in China and Japan. Before joining Blackstone, Joe was an Executive Director at GreenOak Real Estate Advisors in New York, where he focused on acquisitions in the U.S., Greater China, and India. He began his career in real estate in 1997 at Morgan Stanley in their real estate investing and mergers & acquisitions departments in New York and London. Joe holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University, North Carolina, USA.

Alexander Hoffmann is part of the Private Real Estate business department, overseeing the real estate secondaries investment strategy. He has 17 years of industry experience in Europe and Asia and is based in London. Prior to joining Partners Group, he worked at SIGNA, where he co-headed real estate transactions and was the fund manager of a real estate development fund. He started his career at Lehman Brothers and Fortress Investment Group and holds a bachelor’s degree from EBS Oestrich-Winkel and a Master's in Advanced Finance from IE Business School, Madrid.

Responsible for global investor relations, funds strategy and management, capital raising.
Previously: Director Asia-Pacific at Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors; Head of European Transactions at CBRE Global Investors; ING REIM; Unibail-Rodamco. Amsterdam/Sydney based.

Dr Sabine Schaffer is Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Pro-invest Group. Since the inception of the business, she was instrumental in establishing Pro-invest as one of the leading integrated real estate platforms within Australasia, covering all aspects of development, asset management, and day-to-day operations. The Group currently manages in excess of 3 billion AuM across hospitality and commercial assets in the form of closed-end funds, managed accounts as well as co-investment programs. One of the biggest achievements is the positioning of Pro-invest as a leader when it comes to ESG, proven by the fact that all the assets within the Proinvest estate to date are achieving some of the highest environmental ratings ( including the very first carbon-neutral hotel according to NABERS ratings) Sabine’s career started more than 25 years ago and spans from looking after Private Equity investments at 3i into retail schemes, working on high profile projects with McKinsey & Company focusing on Finance and Public Affairs in Europe to working as Director of Investments at a GCC based Private Equity firm responsible for setting up and managing Private Equity Funds and sourcing co-investment opportunities across the region. Sabine focused on Real Estate and established a Real Estate Development Fund in the GCC for newly built office buildings. Sabine holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University as well as a PhD in Economics from Leopold Franzens University, Innsbruck, Austria

Charles Haase is Chief Executive of ANREV, the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles. ANREV is a member driven non-profit organization producing research and indices relevant to the private real estate industry in Asia Pacific, and promoting improved transparency and best practices across the region.
Prior to joining ANREV, Charlie had experience on both sides of the investment table, working for Aetos Japan and Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corporation in Tokyo, and for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System in the United States. Prior to joining CalSTRS, Charlie was on the Economics faculty of San Francisco State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.
