The Japan launch of ANREV Investment Intentions Asia Survey 2022 webinar is successfully held on10 February 2022. 

The 2022 ANREV/INREV/PREA Investment Intentions survey attracted 99 respondents in total including 91 institutional investors and 8 funds of funds managers. Ms Amelie Delauany of ANREV, Mr. Jun Muto of CBRE, Mr. Yasuyuki Sanami of Diamond Realty, Mr. Morgan Laughlin of PGIM and Ms. Mayumi Fujita of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank (SuMi Trust) shared with us the key highlights of the survey and lead the panel discussions on Japan market

Amélie Delaunay

Amélie Delaunay is the Director of Research and Professional Standards for ANREV. She is responsible for the development and implementation of ANREV’s Research, Performance Measurement and Professional Standards programmes in Asia Pacific, including market information and performance indices, global surveys and promotion of best practices for the industry.
 
Amélie has more than 19 years of experience in the real estate industry and a strong real estate consulting background initially with Ernst & Young. She has been based in Asia for more than 15 years.
 
Educated at the Sorbonne in Paris, where she was awarded a post graduate degree in Urban Geography, Town Planning and Real Estate, Amélie also has an Advanced Master's Degree in Urban and Real Estate Management from ESSEC Business School in Paris. Amélie is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Jun Muto
Senior Director | Capital Markets, Asia
CBRE

Jun leads the capital raising, debt finance, and investment advisory business for CBRE Japan and has over 20 years’ experience in the alternative investment management space. His major achievements at CBRE include raising equity and debt capital from institutional investors, developers and trading companies for domestic and cross border investments and providing real estate investment advisory and consulting services for major corporations and sovereign wealth funds.

Prior to joining CBRE in 2014, Jun was the Japan Representative for Duet Alternative Investments where he launched the Japan business and spearheaded private equity and hedge fund business, and built relationships with Japanese pensions, banks, and insurance companies.

Before joining Duet, Jun was the Pacific Rim COO at Diamond Lake Investment Group.

Previously Jun held senior roles in New York, London, and Tokyo, for Daiwa SMBC and The Sumitomo Bank.

Jun holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from University of Washington, USA

Morgan Laughlin
Head of Japan & Korea | Head of Asia Pacific Debt
PGIM Real Estate

Morgan A. Laughlin is a managing director at PGIM Real Estate and head of Japan, Korea and Asia Pacific Debt business. Based in Tokyo, he is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategy and oversight of PGIMReal Estate’s business in Tokyo and Korea, along with the mortgage debt business and product development across the region. Morgan chairs the Asia Pacific Investment Committee and is a member of the Asia Pacific Executive Committee and the Global Product Committee.

Previously, Morgan was head of Asia Pacific, responsible for the development and implementation of the strategy and oversight of PGIMReal Estate’s businesses in the Asia Pacific region.

Morgan joined PGIMReal Estate from Grosvenor Fund Management, where he was a regional director responsible for managing the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Grosvenor, Morgan spent five years with Royal Bank of Scotland in several roles including head of Real Estate Finance, head of Japanese Coverage and Origination, and regional head of Real Estate Advisory. He previously established and led DB Real Estate (RREEF) for Non-Japan Asia from 1999 to 2006. Prior to it being acquired by Deutsche Bank AG, Morgan worked for Bankers Trust Company, where he held roles in finance, and international banking. His career began in investment banking at PaineWebber in New York and he has been based in Asia since 1989.

Morgan has a bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies from Columbia College. He has lived and worked in the United States, Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Yasuyuki Sanami
Chief Operating Officer
Diamond Realty Management

Yasuyuki Sanami is Chief Operating Officer and serves as a member of the Board and Investment Committee of Diamond Realty Management Inc, a private equity real estate platform based in Tokyo wholly owned by Mitsubishi Corporation. 

In his role he is responsible for business development, capital raising and fund management of both equity and debt strategies, where he has led the team in expanding the firm’s cross border activities for institutional investors. 

He has around 20 years of experience in real estate business at Mitsubishi Corporation, where his previous international roles included overseeing real estate investment management and development businesses in the US and UK, as well as various direct investments through international joint ventures in the Asian region. 

He received his Master’s degree in mechanical engineering at Waseda University, Tokyo.

Mayumi Fujita
Manager, Real Estate Investment Team, Investment Management Department
Sumitomo Trust and Banking , Limited (SuMi Trust)

Mayumi Fujita joined the Sumitomo Trust and Banking Co., Limited. (current “SuMi Trust”) in 2007.
Since 2020, She has been a fund manager in the pension fund management department and in charge of overseas real estate private funds, private REITs investment, etc.

Prior to this, she was a member of SuMi Trust proprietary investment team, where she was responsible for overseas and domestic real estate private funds, private REITs for five years.
She was also a seconded to Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Real Estate Investment Management Co, Limited, which is a real estate asset management company, where she had experienced in setting up, executing and managing a Japanese real estate portfolio for domestic and overseas clients.

Mayumi is an ARES certified Master.
She holds a Master’s degree in Socio-Cultural Environmental studies from University of Tokyo and graduated from Yokohama National University (BA in Engineering).
