Professor Sotiris Tsolacos, Chair in Real Estate Finance ICMA Centre – Henley Business School highlights the economic backdrop to the day's discussions. What does the European Central Bank's QE programme mean for Europe's real estate markets? What will happen to property if the euro-zone does not stay intact?

2.45 - 3.10pm: The future of Europe's cities

TIAA Henderson Real Estate has scored over 200 European cities according to the qualities that make them attractive to people and occupiers, today and in the future. 
Alice Breheny, global co-head of research, will explain how investors can incorporate long-term megatrends into their investment strategies.

3.10 - 3.35pm: Playing the market cycles

Europe is home to a diversified range of markets and cities that behave differently and recover at different speeds. Philippe Peirs, head of International real estate of La Francaise will look at the different strategies and approaches required to find the best opportunities in individual European markets, whether it be CBD Paris, regional markets in the UK or second-tier German cities.

Mr. Peirs has enjoyed a 20 year career in equity capital markets and real estate. As a Managing Director and Head of International Real Estate Development at La Française, Philippe is responsible for pan-European, Middle Eastern and Asian product and business development, working hand-in-hand with Forum Partners. Prior to joining La Française, Philippe was Managing Director and Head of Private Equity Fundraising Group at Société Générale CIB, where he was instrumental in developing private fundraising advisory services focused on European real estate, infrastructure and renewable energy. Philippe graduated from ESCP and has a Master of Science in Finance from the London Business School.
