RICS Hong Kong Annual Conference 2015

21 May 2015 @ Hong Kong

WHY?

Why is building Hong Kong’s capacity important?

Hong Kong is a densely populated urban metropolis which has been developing tremendously over the years. Along
with this development comes the demand for more space, which has become difficult to satisfy. One concern shared
by professionals and academics alike is our lack of capacity to meet this demand.

How can we effectively utilise our available resources to meet continuously rising demand? How can we maintain
our advantages and attractiveness while creating new opportunities for progress? How can we stay ahead of the
competition globally? If these questions are not answered effectively and efficiently, more problems will be created
within society and Hong Kong could lose its edge compared to other world cities.

HOW?

How will the Conference address these issues?
• The Conference will facilitate solution-oriented discussion in presentation and panel discussion to address key issues relating to capacity.
• Speakers of varying backgrounds (e.g. Government, developers, planners, academics, overseas experts etc.) will paint a clear and balanced picture.
• RICS will consolidate insights from the conference and share them openly as part of its mission to promote and implement the highest professional standards.
• The Career Advice Session serves as a precious chance for young minds to get first-hand information on prospects from industry leaders, and ultimately become part of the change Hong Kong needs.
