Charles Haase

Charles Haase is Chief Executive of ANREV, the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles. ANREV is a member driven non-profit organisation producing research and indices relevant to the private real estate industry in Asia Pacific, and promoting improved transparency and best practices across the region.

Prior to joining ANREV, Charlie had experience on both sides of the investment table, working for Aetos Japan and Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corporation in Tokyo, and for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System in the United States. Prior to joining CalSTRS, Charlie was on the Economics faculty of San Francisco State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis

Amélie Delaunay

Amélie Delaunay is the Director of Research and Professional Standards for ANREV, the Asian association for investors in non-listed real estate vehicles where she leads a team of five, responsible for the development and implementation of ANREV’s Research, Market information and Professional Standards programmes in Asia Pacific, including ANREV indices, global surveys and promotion of best practices for the industry.

Amélie has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry and a strong real estate consulting background initially with Ernst & Young. She has been based in Asia for more than 18 years.

Educated at the Sorbonne in Paris, where she was awarded a post graduate degree in Urban Geography, Town Planning and Real Estate, Amélie also has an Advanced Master's Degree in Urban and Real Estate Management from ESSEC Business School in Paris. Amélie is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Hanna SAFDAR

Hanna Safdar is an Associate Director and Head of Research and Strategy for AEW's Asia Pacific Region where she supports both the direct and indirect investment teams in the region. Ms. Safdar has over ten years of real estate experience which she relies on to provide research and strategy support for all new and existing property investments. She joined AEW in 2018 from Cambridge Associates, where she conducted fund manager research and due diligence projects across Asia Pacific's real estate and infrastructure managers. Prior, she also held a research position at DTZ in Singapore. Ms. Safdar has a B.Sc Real Estate from the National University of Singapore.

Ada Choi

Ada Choi leads CBRE’s occupier research in Asia Pacific and also oversees data strategy for the region. Since joining CBRE in 2005, Ada has held a variety of leadership roles, including head of capital markets research for Asia Pacific and head of research for Greater China.

Prior to joining CBRE, Ada worked in financial markets research for the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing’s Planning and Research team, where she led research into financial market development trends and benchmarking Hong Kong against other leading global financial centers.

Ada has 15 years research experience in the Asia Pacific real estate market. She holds a MSc in Financial Engineering and Quantitative Analysis for Business from the City University of Hong Kong and a BA in Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts.

Ada FUNG

Professional Experience
With over 23 years of experience in the Real Estate industry, Ada has built a strong industry network and worked across a wide segments of the business allowing her to understand full spectrum of the real estate business. Prior to this role, Ada has lead our Greater China Sales Management and Pitch Management teams with focus on streamlining business efficiency and sales operation process driving for optimal productivities; she was also our Business Development Director for Project Management Team. Ada is a chartered Town Planner (RTPI) and chartered Surveyor (RICS), she had worked in the Government (Town Planning Offices and Town Planning Board) as well as in Sales and Marketing role of International Properties firm.

Ada holds LLB (Law) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University/HKU Space; and Town Planning degree from University College London (UCL), UK, she also has her Master degree in Urban Design from UCL, UK.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I)
Ada is a DE&I role model within CBRE and in the industry. As one of the CBRE Ambassadors, Ada represents the market in CBRE GOT ETHICS Campaign! Championing and pushing forward DE&I in CBRE. She chaired CBRE’s Inclusion Council and played a key role in driving the 50/50 Balance for Better campaign. Externally Ada co-chairs the WLI (Women’s Leadership Initiative) since 2023, leading initiatives and events that promote D&I in the industry.

Dr Henry Chin

Dr. Henry Chin leads CBRE’s investor thought leadership across all regions and oversees all research activity in Asia Pacific. After joining CBRE in 2014, Henry was promoted to CBRE’s Asia Pacific Strategic Group, the board which oversees CBRE’s strategic direction in the region, in 2016. From 2019-2020 he also served as Head of Research, EMEA.

Before joining CBRE, Henry was head of Asia Pacific research and strategy at PGIM (previously known as Pramerica Real Estate Investors), Prudential Financials Inc., where he was responsible for leading the company’s Asia Pacific real estate investment strategy. Henry also spent several years with Deutsche Bank Group, where he had numerous roles ranging from global real estate strategist based in London to co-head of real estate for Asia Pacific for their private banking business. Henry began his career as lead Asian real estate analyst for DTZ.

Henry is a visiting professor at Oxford Brookes University (UK) and an assistant professor at National Taipei University (Taiwan). He is also a member of the Society of Property Researchers (SPR), Investment Property Forum (IPF), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Asian Public Real Estate Association (APREA), Asia Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV), International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC), SFC Hong Kong, HKSI and UKSIP. He was served as a chairman of ANREV’s research committee from 2011 to 2014. He holds an Investment Management Certificate (IMC) in the UK.

Henry has 20 years research experience in the Asia Pacific and Global real estate markets. He holds a BA in Land Economic and Administration from National Taipei University (Taiwan); an MSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading (UK) and a PhD in Real Estate Investment from Oxford Brookes University (UK).

Eddie HUI

Professor Hui obtained his MPhil and PhD at Cambridge University.  He has served the community in various capacities. For example, the Long Term Housing Strategy Steering Committee, Town Planning Board, Metro Planning Committee, Rural and New Town Planning Committee, Real Estate Services Training Board, Buildings Appeal Tribunal, Securities and Futures Commission (REITs), Property Management Services Authority, Hong Kong Housing Society, and Urban Renewal Authority.  About research, Prof Hui is dedicated to land, construction and real estate issues, local and international.  His scholarly work has been published in reputed international journals, such as Applied Geography, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Urban Studies, Journal of Urban Affairs, Transportmetrica, International Real Estate Review, Housing Studies, Housing Economics, Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, Journal of Real Estate Literature, Journal of Property Investment and Finance, Property Management, Construction Management and Economics, Journal of Urban Planning and Development, International Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Housing and the Built Environment, Habitat International, Cities, Land Use Policy, Building and Environment, Landscape and Urban Planning.  Not only on many editorial boards, Prof Hui serves as Chief Editor/Guest Editor for international journals, and also a Director for Asian Real Estate Society and Global Chinese Real Estate Congress. In 2015 and 2021, he was awarded a Medal of Honour (MH) and Justice of Peace (JP), respectively, by the Chief Executive HKSAR to recognize his significant contribution to society in the field.  Apart from being the Fellow of Cambridge University Trust, he was appointed by the University of Cambridge (Department of Land of Economy) as their (honorary) Associate in July 2018 and also LISA Fellow in 2023. Professor Hui has been invited as visiting/honorable professor by many renowned universities, local and international.

Nelson Wong

Professor Nelson Wong joined the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at CUHK Business School in the 2023-24 academic year. Before joining the School, Nelson was the Head of Research at Jones Lang LaSalle HKG, a property consultant firm, in 2019-23. In 2006-18, he was a Portfolio Manager at CBRE Clarion Securities’ Asia-Pacific research team, primarily responsible for the evaluation of listed real estate companies and taking part in asset allocation decisions. Prior to that, Nelson worked in various real estate research and analyst positions at Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and Jones Lang LaSalle. His career in Hong Kong dated back to 1995-97 when he taught at the Economics Department at CUHK.

Leslie Chua

Leslie Chua is Senior Vice President and Director of Asia Pacific Investment Research. He is responsible for all research and analysis inthe Asia-Pacific region, including assisting with new acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management of properties. Additionally, he researches trends in macroeconomics, demographics, capital markets and property market fundamentals in order to identify relative value and shape investment strategies. Prior to joining Heitman, Leslie was a senior researcher and strategist at Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (previously known as RREEF), a boutique Singapore-based real estate platform (Pacific Star), Standard Chartered Bank and at Jones Lang LaSalle. He has worked in Singapore and Tokyo, and speaks Mandarin. Leslie received a BA with Honors in Political Science and History from the University of Western Australia.

Kin-keung FUNG

Mr. Fung is currently Chairman of Greater China at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). He was previously the Chief Executive Officer for Greater China at JLL, where he was responsible for the strategic direction of a business with more than 20,000 employees in 16 corporate offices. He first joined JLL back in 1984, after graduating from the University of Aberdeen with a degree in Land Economics.

In 2003, he was appointed Head of Retail, overseeing the consultancy and marketing of retail premises across Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China while also serving as Managing Director for Hong Kong. He chairs JLL’s Greater China Executive Leadership Committee. He is also a member of JLL’s Asia Pacific Executive Board.

In 2009, Mr. Fung was appointed to lead the Greater China business and has spent the last decade solidifying JLL’s leadership in China. Under his leadership, the company has opened six new offices across the region, developed new online businesses, and forged stronger relations with both large corporations as well as city government authorities.

Since 2019, he chairs JLL’s Greater China Executive Leadership Committee as CEO and serves as a member of JLL’s Asia Pacific Executive Board. Since then, he has spent the last decade solidifying JLL’s leadership in China.

Mr. Fung cares deeply about social issues and is a key stakeholder in JLL’s Building a Better Tomorrow programme, the firm’s global sustainability initiative. He also has a passion for education, serving as both a member of the Advisory Committee on Hotel and Tourism Management and as a mentor of the Undergraduate Mentorship Programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong Business School.

Elysia TSE

Elysia Tse is the Head of Asia Pacific Research & Strategy and a member of the Asia Pacific Investment Committee for LaSalle Investment Management. She returned to LaSalle in 2016. Elysia was previously the Head of Investment Governance, Strategy & Research Asia Pacific for Aviva Investors and subsequently the Head of Research and Strategy for J.P. Morgan Asset Management – Real Estate Asia Pacific (as part of the M&A). Before returning to Asia, Elysia has over a decade of experience in real estate investment research and strategy in the U.S. She has held positions in real estate research and strategy teams at BlackRock based in New York and LaSalle based in Chicago. Elysia started her career in Hong Kong in 1998.

She holds a B.S. from Xiamen University and a Master’s degree in Real Estate from Cornell University. In 2011, Elysia was named a Rising Leader by Commercial Property Executive in the U.S. She sits on the Advisory Board of Cornell University Baker Program in Real Estate.

Laura WANG

WANG Yonglin, Laura is an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Lingnan University. Her research focuses on mortgage markets and household finance. She obtained a PhD degree in Real Estate at the National University of Singapore.

Tien Foo SING
Provost’s Chair Professor, Department of Real Estate

Tien Foo is the Provost’s Chair Professor at the Department of Real Estate, Business School, National University of Singapore (NUS). He sits on the Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies (IREUS) Management Board (since 1 January 2023). He was the former Director of the Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies (IREUS) (2017-2022), the former Head of the Department of Real Estate (2020-2022) at NUS, and the past President of the Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES) (2019-2021). He serves on the Boards of AsRES (since 2000) and the Global Chinese Real Estate Congress (GCREC) (since 2008).

Tien Foo is the current Editor of the International Real Estate Review (IRER) (since 2020) - an official journal of AsRES and GCREC. He is the Post-doctoral Honoree (2012) and Fellow (2017) of the US-based Weimer School of Advanced Studies in Real Estate and Land Economics, the Homer Hoyt Institute, and a Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) Fellow, Singapore (since 1 April 2024).

Tien Foo serves as a Member of the Panel of Assessors of the Appeal Board (Land Acquisition), Ministry of Law, Singapore (since 2010), and a Member of the Valuation Review Board, Ministry of Finance (2019-2025), and a Member of the Professional Development Committee (or formerly known as Examination and Professional Development Committee) of the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA), Ministry of National Development (2014-2018). He serves on the Singapore Chapter Board and Singapore Advocacy Committee of Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA) (since 2021). He is the Honorary Advisor of the PropTech Association of Singapore (SPTA) (since 2018) and the Singapore Estate Agencies Association (SEAA) (since 2019). He was a member of the Fair Tenancy Industry Pro-Tem Committee and the Chair of the Rental Data Transparency Subcommittee (2020-2021).

Tien Foo holds a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge, U.K., and a Bachelor of Science with 1st Class Honors in Estate Management from NUS.

Desmond TSANG

Professor Desmond Tsang is an Associate Professor of Real Estate at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at CUHK Business School. He also serves as a Co-Director of the Centre for Hospitality and Real Estate Research. He obtained his PhD from University of California at Berkeley majoring in real estate and accounting. His research in real estate specialises in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Firm Location, and Chinese Real Estate Market. His research interests in accounting include CEO & Corporate Governance, Earnings Management, and Financial Reporting Fraud. Professor Tsang has published in top journals such as Management Science, Review of Accounting Studies, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research and Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. Professor Tsang teaches real estate at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels at CUHK. Professor Tsang is actively involved in the academic profession. Notably, he has hosted the Joint International Real Estate Conference in 2023 and has served as the president of both the Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES) and the Global Chinese Real Estate Congress (GCREC) for the term 2022-2023.

Liusman, Ervi
Senior Lecturer

Dr. Ervi Liusman joined the School of Hotel and Tourism Management of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School in 2014. Prior to that, she was a Senior Research Assistant and a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Department of Real Estate and Construction of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) from 2010 to 2014. Prior to joining academia, she was a Research Analyst at JLL Hong Kong from 2007 to 2010, in charge of Hong Kong residential and retail market analysis. Dr. Liusman obtained her BEng in Real Estate from Tarumanagara University, MSc in Real Estate from HKU and PhD from HKU.

Apart from teaching, Dr. Liusman is active in carrying out research in real estate discipline, as well as teaching and learning innovation. She has received several teaching and learning grants and developed a number of micro-module videos and Virtual Reality (VR) learning tools. The VRs developed include VR Hong Kong CBD, Peak Galleria and Central Market. Her outstanding contribution to teaching and learning has been recognised by CUHK Business School Faculty Teaching Excellence Award 2018-19 and 2021-22, as well as Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award 2022.

Zoe YANG

Prof. Zoe Yang is an Assistant Professor of Real Estate at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on urban economics, real estate, and sustainability. She holds a PhD in Real Estate from the National University of Singapore (2018), an MSc in Urban Land Economics (2014), and a B.Comm with Honours in Finance and Real Estate (2012) from the University of British Columbia. Her work has been published in academic journals, such as The Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Urban Economics, Real Estate Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Energy Economics.

Prof. Yang is the principal investigator of Hong Kong GRC projects and the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s Young Scientists Fund. She is the Associate Editor of Regional Science and Urban Economics, an Academic Editor for PLOS One, and sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Real Estate Literature.

Liuming YANG

Prof. Liuming Yang is currently an Assistant Professor of Real Estate at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong Business School. He received PhD in Business Administration from Georgia State University, MSc and BS in Finance from Wuhan University. His research focuses on real estate finance and household finance.

Jeff Shen

Dr Shen completed his PhD degree in Real Estate Finance at The University of Hong Kong. He obtained a bachelor degree in Land Management and master degree in Finance from Renmin University of China in Beijing. Prior to joining the Department of Building and Real Estate in June 2019, Dr Shen was a visiting scholar at the University of Connecticut, and worked at the School of Accounting & Finance, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Department of Economics & Finance, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. He is also a certificated FRM (Financial Risk Manager) and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder.

Kwong Wing CHAU

Dr K. W. Chau is currently Chair Professor of Real Estate and Construction and Director of the Ronald Coase Centre for Property Rights Research at The University of Hong Kong. His main areas of research include real estate finance and economics, real estate price index and urban analysis. Most of his works are empirical studies with implications for policy makers and practitioners. He has published over 100 journal papers including the Journal of Law and Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Urban Studies, Energy Policy, Building and Environment, Environment and Planning B and Habitat International. He received the International Real Estate Society Achievement Award in 1999. In 1996, Dr Chau became the founding president of the Asian Real Estate Society. He was elected president of the International Real Estate Society in 2000. He is now serving on the editorial boards of more than 10 peer-reviewed journals.

Xiaoling CHU

Dr. Chu is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Business and Management. His research interests include corporate finance, real estate, and Chinese economy. He has published in journals such as Journal of Real Estate Research and Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics.

Rose Neng LAI
Professor in Finance, Department of Finance and Business Economics
University of Macau

Rose Neng LAI is Professor of Finance of the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau, and the Dean of the Honours College of the University since 2019. She was a Visiting Fellow in 2010 and is the Life Member of the Clare Hall of the University of Cambridge. She runs the Executive Director Office for the Asian Real Estate Society, for which she was the President in 2007, as well as executive director and the past President (2012) of the Board of the Global Chinese Real Estate Congress. She has also sat on various committees in international Associations such as the AREUEA and the ARES, and academic search/promotion committees for various universities such as University of Cambridge, University College London and University of Melbourne. Her research in real estate finance and economics, behavioral finance, and risk management has been published in the Real Estate Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the Journal of Empirical Finance, the Journal of Real Estate Research, and others, as well as in her book with Robert Van Order entitled “When Housing Markets Meet Shadow Banking”. She won the 2019 International Real Estate Society Achievement Award, and the 2017 Edwin Mills Best Paper Award. She is currently the Executive Editor of the International Real Estate Review. She has also led several government consultancy projects, joined think-tanks and committees for expert opinions, and consulted by international bodies. She earned her BBA from the University of East Asia (predecessor of the University of Macau), MBA from the Simon Fraser University, Canada, and her PhD in Finance from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
