Presenters Bios

Craig Luton
Associate in Funds & Investment Management
Maples Group

Craig is an associate of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team at the Maples Group.  He advises on the structure, formation,launch and maintenance of private equity funds, venture capital funds and hedge funds, as well as downstream private equity transactions.  Craig also has experience working with mutual funds being offered to Japanese investors.

Craig joined the Maples Group in 2016.  He gained significant onshore experience as a senior associate in the M&A and corporate team of the London office of a major US firm, where he worked on cross-border M&A deals, private equity transactions, joint ventures, venture capital investments and fundraisings and other transactions on AIM.

Jaron Jiao
Manager
Maples Group

Jaron is a legal manager of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's Hong Kong office. She has advised on a variety of cross border finance and investment transactions into and out of the PRC, including venture capital, pre-IPO financing, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs of Cayman Islands companies on global stock exchanges including Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States, acting for corporates and leading PRC banking institutions.

Jaron joined Maples Group in 2017.  She previously worked for another international law firm in Hong Kong.  Jaron is a native Mandarin speaker and fluent in Cantonese.
